a baby

A really good friend of mine from university is having a baby! I'm so excited for her. She only got married last summer and I've been married 4 years and she's having a baby already! She lives in Edmonton so I don't see her that often but she's one of my closest friends so I'm so excited to hear all the little details of everything. Now she says it's my turn so we can have mat leave together and our kids can play and stuff. But we're still looking at this fall to go off the pill so we'll only be getting pregnant when she's giving birth. Sometimes I wish we all coordinated this better!

It's weird, of my little circle of friends, I was the first one married by a long shot (like 2 years or more) but now I'm gonna be one of the later to have a baby. Just seems weird.

Just warning you though, this is probably gonna start a big wave of baby related posts again!

ARGH! I know!!! I was married WAY before any of my friends (same as you, about 2 years at least) and I am SOOOOOO behind on the baby wagon...HOWEVER, a bunch of them are envious that I am getting my travelling in this year and they say "I wish I could have done that"...so I am happy knowing that I am doing this stuff before then...

BUT I SOOOOOO know what you mean!!!

Oh I know how you feel. My coworker and his wife who have been married a little over 3 years just had a baby in January. I've been married for almost 8 (and I'm also 5 years older then he is). I'm way behind on having a baby, most of my friends have kids these days. I know it will happen when we're (you and I) ready.

Hey look at it this way - if you're just following behind her by a year or so, she'll be the one you can turn to for all the advice you're gonna need! It sounds like you and I have the same time line plan for building the family. Wedding is Sept which is when I'm going off the pill, but not "trying" I think you're supposed to be off it for like 6 mths or more before actually getting pregnant, so "they" say anyways!

RYC: My protein powder is 130cals (chocolate) or 140cals (tropical vanilla)for two scoops it has no sugars and has 2 or 3 g of carbs. It's a high alpha whey isolate and is mostly organic and sweetened with stevia (wow I sound like a commercial!) It's really really good too.

At first I was concerned about the daily calorie intake equasion and was reluctant to make them a part of my day. But that was when I was strictly counting calories or points and I found that my suppers were my biggest meal because I was always "saving" for it. I wanted to get better at eating more frequent and smaller meals and adding the protein actually works. I don't feel the need for a large supper now and I"m satisfied much more easily. Hunger is always controlled. Plus adding the protein shakes keeps your metabolism revving more constantly. Doing the "whole package" with the high protein, frequent meal idea really is working well and not "counting" keeps the calorie intake varied from day to day which always keeps your body "guessing" and less likely to fall into adaptation.

...Oh so the total cals for a protein shake (the one I listed in my blog) would be only about 210. 130 powder + 40 almond breeze + 50 PB2.

Oh and the PB2 I find is worth it for these shakes definitely. I mean they weren't cheap because they were shipped from the states and there was duty, but I bet I'll order more when I run out because of the shakes. And for toast etc., it's just as good a regular PB and I can't even tell the difference.

I'm in the same boat. Scott and I have been married for almost 4 years now and my good friend who JUST got married on April 19 is already preggers!! Actually she was preggo walking down the isle, she just didn't know it yet. ooops haha. I always say that we are in no rush to have children, I am only 25 and Scott is 28 but it seems that we talk about it more and more lately.
I just don't want to give up Scott & Carolyn time, ya know?? I feel so selfish because I don't want to share my hubby. I want him all to myself. How weird is that?
