You guys should know something

I am sooo much more inspired and motivated at say, 9:00 or 12:00. But come 4:30 when it's time for me to go home for the day. I am NOT motivated or inspired. It sort of hit me as I'm trying to leave (slightly early, but I don't have any work to do, shhh) "oh gosh, I guess I have to workout tonight, and plan meals and actually DO the BFL type stuff in order to do this challenge" Something just happens before supper that makes me not care too much about anything but going home to my couch. Granted I feel like this all the time, but I rarely DO actually just hit the couch all night. But from 4:30 until about 7:00 that's all I want to do...

Instead I decide to post and tell you ladies about it, hopefully guilt myself into feeling good about working out. Get pumped up for it. I've got chicken breasts thawing all day, stir fry here I come. then a good hard workout at home. Focus on the HARD!

Here's hoping you got a good second wind after work and hit the gym hard and then enjoy a good stir fry (or vice versa). You can do it!

I hear ya.
Almost everyday around 4:00 at work I start to lose energy and the though of going to the gym for a run or lifting weights almost seems impossible. But one you get there and throw on your workout clothes and get started, it's almost like something clicks and the motivation kicks in, although this isn't always the case.
Lately I have been eating a banana everyday at 3:30 and it seems to perk m,e up a bit, maybe because bananas contain more sugar than most fruits? I don't know, maybe it's just placebo but it seems to work for me!

You are preaching to the choir girl! Do you know how many times thoughts run in my head begining at around 3:45 that I try to justify and convince myself just to go home instead of the gym? I try to convince myself for whatever reason that it's okay if I do because I will do something active when I get home with Lucy. My success rate at that scandal is only about 50% at best. I think we all lose steam at that hour when we work regular M-F jobs. Plus I can't keep up with the housework either and FH starts work again as soon as he gets home because he's getting a new company off the ground. So I always feel guilty - either it's because I skipped out on the gym, or because I went and then come home and skip out on the much needed house cleaning!

RYC: the recipe for the ww pancakes is super easy and it doesn't take too long for them to cook. If I'm really on top of it, I'll mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl the night before (ww flour, baking powder, splenda) and leave it on the counter and mix the wet (milk & egg whites) together and leave it in the fridge, so that way all i have to do is mix them together and cook. These pancakes were from the CTL book.

All of the recipes in the Gourmet Nutrition book are all normal as far as I can see. I have only made one thing so far and it was AWESOME. It was coconut mashed cauliflower or something like that (as a sub for mashed potatoes) and when I make it again i'll post. I'm trying to use up the rest of the coconut milk from that recipe, so that's why i'm making the curried coconut chickpeas tonight.

Not to get too many programs in the works because I only bought the book for the recipes and to check it out, but the book categorizes the meals as "Anytime Meals" or "Post workout meals" and give your ideal parings with each recipe and how to modify them to make them anytime or postworkout. I haven't read much about the PN program really, but basically Berardi believes that carbs should be eaten, but as post workout meals and that you have to "earn them."
